Pump buying guide

Marine Pumps Info Center

Find pump categories, lookup checks, and product-search starting points for bilge, sanitation, washdown, cooling, transfer, and livewell systems.

Marine Pumps Info Center
Best starting point: search the exact brand, model, SKU, MPN, size wording, or product type shown on the label, manual, or product page.

What to check before ordering

  • Voltage and amp draw
  • Port and hose size
  • Flow rate and head pressure
  • Mounting footprint
  • OEM or replacement part number

Where to shop next

Before checkout

Do not choose from the heading alone. Open likely product matches and compare title, image, SKU, MPN, and listed details before ordering.

Why is my bilge pump not working?

A bilge pump usually fails because of power, the float switch, a clogged intake, a bad impeller, or a wiring fault — not because the whole boat is “broken.” Check power and the float first, then the strainer and impeller, then replace only the failed part.

Fast bilge checks

  • Is the pump getting 12V at the terminals when the switch is on or the float is lifted?
  • Is the float switch free to move and not stuck under debris?
  • Is the intake strainer clear of plastic, hair, or sludge?
  • Does the impeller look cracked, melted, or missing vanes?
