We get a lot of questions about accumulator tanks, mostly if its worth installing one so Paul and I made a video about showing how an accumulator tank improves the water flow and could even make a pump more quiet.
Â
We get a bunch of calls every year from customers asking why the waste in the toilet isn't leaving the bowl. We decided to put together this video which shows what happens if there's a blockage in the system, either in the toilet or further down the pipe. If you're attempting this, make sure you close your seacocks, turn off the power to the unit and wear gloves.
Â
Changing out the base valve gasket is a pretty straight forward task. Make sure you have a 29043-0000 on hand, a good pair of rubber gloves and close the seacocks!
Â
Alas, the cold weather has come but you wouldn't know it. This video was taped in Salem Harbor, Massachusetts at the end of September and we're in shorts talking about winterizing!!! Well, as much as we don't want to talk about it, we need to winterize all our water systems in our vessels to protect against burst hose and piping. One of the easiest systems to winterize is the washdowm pump and hose.
Â
If you call the tech guys over at Jabsco about a manual head service kit, we're going to ask you which version you have. Well, after a bunch of calls we created a video that shows you what the different pumps look like and what service kit belongs to each version. Good luck and wear gloves!!!
Â
Can't bring water in to flush your manual marine toilet? In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the top valve gasket which should remedy the issue. Don't forget to close the seacocks!
Â
Us tech guys at Jabsco and Rule thought "How cool would it be to show what's going on inside an impeller pump!". Well, with the help of our machinist who made us a clear end-cover and the addition of some dish-washing liquid, we were able to show you how the vanes fold over and push the liquid out of the pump head. Remember, don't try this at home but it is wicked cool!
Â
Is your boat's engine running hot? Have you changed the impeller recently? No? So you go to check the impeller by removing the end-cover and what do you see...an impeller that once had 10 blades now has 6 and those are hanging on by a thread. You remembered that you already have a spare impeller in a Ziploc bag with a funky tool but you don't know how to use it. Watch this video and we'll show you how to use our most popular Jabsco impeller puller, the 50070-0200.
Â
We get a bunch of calls about waste going back into the bowl of our marine head. It's hard to show you exactly where a blockage could be but we're going to try with this mock set-up. Good luck and don't forget to wear gloves!
Â
Jabsco has had many variations of electric toilets since the 1970s and we often get calls from customers that are unsure of which model toilet they own. We found the best way to figure out the model is simply by looking at the switch that activates the flush. This video shows the switch and the corresponding model number for our more popular marine toilets. We hope it helps!
Â
So, once in a blue moon we get a question about which way does the fluids travel in our 45490-1000 waste y-valve. It's one of those questions that hard to describe over the phone, so we made a video! Enjoy!!!
Â
From time to time we receive questions from customers who are looking to replace the seat or the hinges for their toilet. In order to give them the correct part number, we need to know if you have a compact or regular sized bowl. A lot of people are unsure what size bowl they have so made this video to show you how to figure it out!
Â
So, you went to the store and purchased a new 29040-3000 pump assembly for your Jabsco manual toilet and you want to see how it's swapped out....well we made a video!!! It's a dirty job so make sure you have gloves, paper towels, plus a Phillips head and a flat screwdriver.
Â
We sometime wonder what's inside the thing we're about to work on. So to help out, we videotaped the inside of the searchlight and talked about what the parts do plus some tips!
Â
What's inside our Y-valve....we'll we don't really get asked this question very often but it's pretty cool inside (well, to us anyway). This video shows you how to take apart the valve, shows you what's inside and talks about the service kits. If yours has been used and you want to take it apart, don't forget to take protective measures against the bio-hazards involved with a marine sanitation system.
Â
Every once in a while we get asked this question. Well, for your viewing pleasure, we're going to answer it!!!
Â
Paul and Mike are at it again, we've gotten a couple of calls about how to take a quiet flush pump assembly apart and which way the seal goes. So, we thought it'd be a good video!!! Good luck and let us know if you have any questions.
