Cal Pumps at CLR Marine

Check all of your impellers contained within the engine cooling pumps, bilge pumps, ballast pumps, and so on. One of the biggest contributors to impeller deterioration and damage is sitting idle in the same position for several months, so a proper check of the impeller(s) is vital to a reliable operation of the boat after storage and/or no operation.
Replacing an impeller is a fairly easy and straightforward process and one that you have probably done in the past. It is important to use the right tool to remove an impeller from the pump. Channel lock or needle-nose pliers are fine, but using an impeller removal tool is the best choice. Never use a screwdriver to pry an impeller out of a pump; you could accidentally score the bronze housing which can lead to leaks. Make sure you know how the impeller is being held in place. Some are sealed to the shaft with an O-ring; others are held in place with a set screw and others with a c-clip.
Make sure to check the pump and the water lines for any trash or chunks of rubber that may have broken off from the impeller. Even the smallest blockage can cause major engine cooling and overheating issues. Also, remember to properly lubricate your new impeller with Vaseline or the lubricant included with the new impeller. This will reduce friction for a brand new impeller on a dry startup.
Most importantly, make sure you are using the right impeller for the application. We have seen many instances of people who have replaced an impeller with something that is close to the original, but not exactly right, and this can cause major problems for the engine once normal operation resumes. You cannot match the size of the used impeller to a new one to determine the replacement, as a used impeller can be swollen and disfigured from its original specifications. The best method is to obtain the impeller number off of the impeller itself, usually located on the edge of the shaft hole of the impeller, or obtain the part number of the pump, usually stamped into the bronze housing.
You can find just about every impeller that needs to be replaced at CLR Marine. We carry Sherwood, Jabsco and Globe just to mention a few. We also carry many of the miner and major rebuild kits for many pumps. A minor repair kit consists of the impeller and any gaskets or O-rings that may be needed to replace the impeller. Our major rebuild kits include everything to rebuild that pump except for the shaft. All kits are put together at time of order so you will always see the Quantity on Hand as 0.

2-Way Waste Manifold - 12' Cable - 3/4" Ports
This manifold manages waste from multiple drains with intelligent control built in. A compact automatic system handles waste drainage from the two outlets. Must be used with Gulper® IC.
The two-way manifold IC is connected to a Gulper® IC. When the manifold senses water, it sends an electrical signal to the Gulper® IC, which evacuates the system. As the water level decreases, the electrical signal transmitted by the manifold will cease, and the Gulper® IC will continue to operate for a further 15 seconds before turning off.

At the heart of every Whale IC product lies innovative electronic control circuitry built in. This enables the IC sensor accessories to communicate directly with the IC pumps to control the performance. These accessories send signals to built-in intelligent software, which then controls the pumps to react as required.

Gulley IC Large Waste Water Outlet
Single-outlet shower drain gulley with intelligent control built in. This product must be used with a Gulper IC since the Gulley IC is connected to a Gulper IC. When the gulley senses water, it sends an electrical signal to the gulper IC, which evacuates the system. As the water level decreases, the electrical signal transmitted by the gulley will cease. Gulper IC will continue to operate for a further 15 seconds before switching off.
Application
Gulley IC is a single outlet shower drain solution and has intelligent control built in (must be operated by a 12/24V Gulper IC unit only). Electronic sensors automatically control grey water waste level when connected to a pre-wired connection to the Gulper IC via Deutsch connectors. Due to remote monitoring, the pump receives signals from the Gulley IC and switches on and off automatically.

Grey Waste Tank Lid Replacement with Sensor
The Grey Waste Tank enables the user to manage all grey waste on board easily, through one skin fitting. The Intelligent Control sensor integrated into the tank lid provides automatic operation of the grey waste pump. The sensor will detect water in the grey waste tank at a pre-determined level, and will automatically activate the grey waste pump. When the tank is emptied, the switch will automatically turn the grey waste pump off . The 2 sensor models include a second sensor which can be used to control a second grey waste pump. It is factory set to activate at a higher water level and will provide additional pumping capacity during periods of high infl ow to the grey waste tank. Alternatively, the second sensor can be wired to a high level alarm, warning of a high water level within the grey waste tank.
The Grey Waste Tank is designed to collect grey shower waste water. If it is intended for use for any other purpose or with any other liquid, it is the user’s responsibility to ensure that the tank and switch are suitable for the intended use and, in particular, that the materials are fully compatible with the liquids to be used. The integrated Intelligent Control sensor is designed to operate at 12V d.c or 24V d.c. only. The sensor is suitable for use with pumps operating with current up to 20A, and is recommended for use with Whale Gulper® 220 or Gulper® 320 grey waste pumps.
