EXTEND YOUR STEP & EXTEND YOUR STEP 3

ASSEMBLE INSTRUCTIONS

FIRST THINGS FIRST

Please check that the upright will fit your boarding ladder.

If the upright does not fit, please contact CLR Marine to return the Extend Your Step. If the ladder does not fit and you screwed it together already, we can not accept it as a new returned item, it is used and thrown out due to possible invasive species that may be in your waters and a refund can not be processed. There will be a restocking fee that pays for the box on returned items because they do not. We do inspect all returned items.

Assembly

  1. INSERT TWO or THREE STEPS INTO ONE SIDE OF ONE UPRIGHT ALL THE WAY THROUGH UNTIL FLUSH WITH THE OTHER SIDE.
  2. BE SURE TO HAVE THE PRE-DRILLED HOLES FACING THE SAME SIDE AS WHERE THE SCREWS WILL GO INTO THE UPRIGHT.
  3. INSERT ONE OF THE SUPPLIED SCREWS IN EACH HOLE TO SECURE THE STEPS.
  4. SLIDE THE SECOND UPRIGHT ON UNTIL YOU ARE FLUSH OR REACH THE DISTANCE NEEDED BETWEEN THE UPRIGHTS.
  5. INSERT ONE SCREW INTO EACH OF THE STEPS.
  6. IF THE DESIRED DISTANCE BETWEEN THE UPRIGHTS IS SHORTER THAN THE PRE-CUT WIDTH, USE A HACKSAW TO CUT OFF THE ENDS OF THE STEPS PROTRUDING OUT OF THE UPRIGHT.
  7. THERE ARE TWO HOLES IN THE TOP OF THE EXTEND YOUR STEPS THAT ARE OPPOSITE EACH OTHER THESE ARE USED TO SECURE THE EXTEND YOUR STEP TO YOUR BOARDING LADDER WITH PLASTIC WIRE TIES (not included).
  8. DO NOT use powertools to screw the screws in. Please screw them in by hand only.

Due to the inherent oils in Starboard we suggest adding just enough lead fishing weight to the under side of the bottom step, to stop the Extend Your Step from floating up. We do not do this in order to save you the added shipping costs.

To increase your foot hold on the steps, we had a customer add 2-inch Diameter 3:1 Waterproof Heat Shrink Tubing it is a  Large Marine Dual Wall Adhesive Shrinkable Insulation Sealing Wear-Resistant Cable Protector that they found on-line.
