Reactor™ 40 Hydraulic Corepack with SmartPump v2
Most Responsive Autopilot System on the Water
Solid-state 9-axis Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS) mounts in any orientation
Minimal heading error, course deviation, rudder movement and power consumption with a more comfortable ride
Minimal commissioning and calibration
One compact, brushless SmartPump v2 fits most hydraulically steered boating applications
Shadow Drive™ technology keeps you in control, even when autopilot is engaged
Requires a compatible Garmin chartplotter
With a complete package designed for powerboats and sailboats, Garmin brings an advanced marine technology to the boating public that was once only available for commercial boats. The Reactor 40 autopilot series is simply the most responsive autopilot system we have ever offered. Experience the ultimate hydraulic autopilot performance when paired with the one-size-fits-most, high-reliability, brushless SmartPump v2¹.
Solid-state 9-axis AHRS
With its advanced solid-state 9-axis AHRS, you can mount Reactor 40 nearly anywhere, in any orientation. In addition, this new system greatly minimizes heading error, course deviation, rudder movement and power consumption while providing a comfortable ride for all on board.
Reacts to Conditions
This amazing autopilot actually reacts to the sea to hold your course. Even when the boat is pitching and rolling, you can remain confident that the Reactor 40 autopilot will keep you on your desired course.
Minimal Commissioning and Calibration
All autopilots require commissioning and calibration — all of them. We know you just want to get on the water, so we made this process as fast and easy as possible. That’s the power of simple.
Full Integration with Garmin Chartplotters
You have full control of Reactor 40 from the chartplotter display. Combined with a compatible Garmin networked chartplotter and BlueChart® g2 Vision® charts, you can enjoy optional features such as Auto Guidance2, which automatically steers GPS paths.
One SmartPump Is the Easy Solution
The Reactor 40 autopilot with SmartPump v2 puts an end to guessing which pump size will work with your particular boat. One SmartPump v2 works for most boats; for optimum control and confidence, you’ll know you have the right pump for your boat. Plus, you get complete control in a smaller size with better thermal performance, higher reliability and lower power consumption. It also includes color-coded connectors to make it very easy to install. Pretty smart.
Limit the Maximum Flow Rate
Reactor 40 with SmartPump v2 automatically adjusts the maximum flow rate for a particular boat from 0 to 2.4 L per minute. It also uses a brushless motor, which provides increased reliability, longer pump life, reduced power consumption, quiet operation, a smaller package, improved thermal performance and higher efficiency.
Eliminate Risk of Rudder “Hard Over”
The Reactor 40 autopilot with SmartPump v2 is a complete autopilot package. SmartPump v2 is a single integrated unit comprised of a motor drive circuit with the pump in a single assembly. Equipped with Intelligent Rudder Rate Technology (IRRT), it slows the rudder rate when the vessel is at high speeds and speeds up rudder rate when the vessel is at lower speeds to provide optimal performance and safety in all conditions. The brushless motor drive eliminates the risk of rudder “hard over” due to hardware or software failures.
Enjoy a Longer Lasting System
Boating environments are harsh, especially on saltwater. So, our SmartPump v2 is protected from the elements. SmartPump v2 is engineered from corrosion-resistant components, including anodized aluminum and nickel-plated steel parts.
Experience Advanced Autopilot Technology
When you have a Reactor 40 with SmartPump v2 aboard your boat, you have control wherever you are on the boat. In addition to holding its course in virtually all weather and wind conditions, the system can smoothly perform a variety of preprogrammed trolling and search procedures. Plus, with a compatible Garmin networked chartplotter and BlueChart g2 Vision charts (sold separately), you gain optional features such as Auto Guidance2, which automatically steers GPS paths.
Stay in Control with Shadow Drive Technology
The Reactor 40 with SmartPump v2 features patented Shadow Drive technology. This gives you the security of knowing you maintain control, even when the autopilot is engaged. The Shadow Drive system automatically disengages the autopilot if the helm is turned, giving you the freedom to maneuver the boat. The autopilot automatically re-engages when you hold a steady course.
Add Even More Peace of Mind
Add an optional GRF™ 10 rudder feedback sensor, and you can further enhance the performance of your Reactor 40 autopilot with SmartPump v2.
¹Compatible Garmin chartplotter required

Compact Reactor™ 40 Hydraulic Autopilot Starter Pack
Ideal Entry-level Autopilot System
Includes Compact Reactor 40 CCU, ECU, pump and other autopilot components needed to add to your compatible chartplotter
Recommended only for single-engine outboard boats less than 30’ long¹
Solid-state 9-axis Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS)
Minimizes heading error, course deviation, rudder movement and power consumption while providing a comfortable ride
Minimal commissioning and calibration
Designed for boats less than 30’ long, the Compact Reactor 40 hydraulic autopilot provides relief from manually holding the wheel to maintain course, especially when cruising at moderate to high speeds¹. Sit back at the helm, and enjoy your time on the water as the solid-state 9-axis AHRS technology delivers a comfortable ride.
Offered in 3 different corepacks, this autopilot lets you configure your autopilot setup, depending on the features you need and how much you want to spend. Buy the starter pack (compatible chartplotter required²), add a GHC™ 20 marine autopilot control unit, or add both GHC 20 and the Shadow Drive™ attachment.
The autopilot is easy to install with flexible mounting options and quick, easy commissioning. Choose a corepack with our patented Shadow Drive technology, and simply turn the wheel to take control of the helm; hold a constant course to re-engage. It integrates with compatible Garmin electronics to control the autopilot from the chartplotter display. And it can be engaged to follow an Auto Guidance path³ (requires LakeVü HD Ultra maps or BlueChart® g2 Vision® HD charts).
Solid-state 9-axis AHRS
With its advanced solid-state 9-axis AHRS, Compact Reactor 40 provides you with more flexible mounting options. In addition, this system greatly minimizes heading error, course deviation, rudder movement and power consumption while providing a comfortable ride for all on board.
Reacts to Conditions
This amazing autopilot actually reacts to the sea to hold your course. Even when the boat is pitching and rolling, you can remain confident that the Compact Reactor 40 autopilot will keep you on your desired course.
Minimal Commissioning and Calibration
All autopilots require commissioning and calibration to work properly. We know you just want to get on the water, so we made this process as fast and easy as possible. That’s the power of simple.
Full Integration with Garmin Electronics
Combined with our compatible networked electronics, you can have full control of Compact Reactor 40 from wherever you are on the boat. In addition to holding its course in virtually all weather and wind conditions, the system can smoothly perform a variety of preprogrammed trolling and search procedures. Plus, with BlueChart g2 Vision HD charts (sold separately), you gain optional features such as Auto Guidance³, which automatically steers GPS paths.
Stay in Control with Optional Shadow Drive Technology
The Compact Reactor 40 autopilot supports optional patented Shadow Drive technology. This gives you the security of knowing you maintain control, even when the autopilot is engaged. The Shadow Drive system automatically disengages the autopilot if the helm is turned, giving you the freedom to maneuver the boat. The autopilot automatically re-engages when you hold a steady course.
Connect to Networked Devices
Compact Reactor 40 can be operated directly from your compatible Garmin chartplotter¹ screen or by using up to 3 GHC helm control units. GHC communicates with the autopilot system via your NMEA 2000® network, so autopilot heading data can be shared easily with other devices. This enables MARPA and chart overlay when connected to a Garmin radar and chartplotter. An optional handheld wireless remote control is also available.

Evolution EV-150 Hydraulic Autopilot System Pack
The Evolution EV-150 Hydraulic Autopilot System Pack is a complete autopilot-in-a-box kit that is ready to install on many popular fishing and cruising powerboats with hydraulic steering. The system comes complete with our p70Rs autopilot controller, EV1 Sensor Core, ACU150 Actuator Control Unit, Type 1 Hydraulic Pump, and an Evolution autopilot cabling kit.
Engineered for simplicity, Raymarine's award-winning Evolution autopilots eliminate the need for complicated set up and calibration. Thanks to the intelligent 9-axis EV sensor core, the autopilot automatically evolves and adapts to your vessel's steering characteristics without any user adjustments. The result is precise and confident course keeping, regardless of vessel speed or sea conditions.
The Evolution EV-150 system also employs Raymarine's patented Hydro-Balance™ technology which delivers superior autopilot performance for hydraulically steered boats, particularly those with outboard motors and rudder-reference less systems. Hydro-Balance automatically compensates for hydraulic system elasticity, steering system asymmetry, and torque steer to keep your boat on-course at trolling speed, cruising speed, and all-out running.
Anglers will also love the Evolution Autopilot's built-in trolling patterns. Let the autopilot work the boat while you prep bait, set your lines and adjust your spread.
The system is also equipped with Raymarine latest Evolution TrackIQ™ algorithms which deliver tighter track-keeping and faster track acquisition. It also uses information on vessel pitch, roll, yaw and heave to stabilize GPS navigation data like course over ground, speed over ground and cross track error for the best possible tracking to waypoints and routes.
The Raymarine EV-150 Hydraulic Autopilot System Pack is the ideal autopilot for small to medium sized hydraulically steered vessels with a steering ram capacity between 4.9 cu. in. (80cc) and 14.0 cu in. (230cc). The system is for 12-volt DC electrical systems only.
