Yanmar 22252-000420 Snap Ring
The Yanmar 22252-000420 is the factory snap ring used in Yanmar marine diesel sea water pumps that use this part. It looks trivial and it is not: everything it retains depends on it staying seated in its groove while the pump turns.
Retaining rings are replaced rather than reused because they lose their grip.
