Yamada NDP-5FPT 1/4 in Polypropylene AODD Pump, PTFE Diaphragms
The Yamada NDP-5FPT is a genuine Yamada NDP-5 series air-operated double diaphragm (AODD) pump, built with a polypropylene pump body and PTFE diaphragms and valve balls. It uses compressed shop air, not electricity, to reciprocate a pair of diaphragms that alternately draw fluid in on one side of the pump and push it out the other, which lets it run dry without damage, self-prime from a lift, and pass moderate solids without stalling.
With a 1/4 in port and up to 3.4 GPM, this pump is sized for light-to-medium duty transfer, dosing and wash-down work. As with any AODD pump, never run it against a fully closed discharge valve for an extended period, and keep the air supply filtered and regulated to protect the air valve.

There is no fixed interval. Diaphragms are a wear item that fail from flex fatigue, chemical attack or dry-running, so replace on a schedule that matches your duty cycle and inspect at the first sign of reduced flow or fluid at the muffler.
Q: Is a filter-regulator required?
Not required, but strongly recommended. A filter-regulator on the air supply keeps moisture and debris out of the air valve, which is the leading cause of erratic cycling and premature air motor wear.
Q: Can I convert it to a different diaphragm material later?
