Yamada 771347 Gasket for NDP-15
The Yamada 771347 is the genuine replacement gasket specified for NDP-15 Series pumps. It goes between two machined faces and keeps the air passages behind them separate from each other.
A tired gasket lets air cross between passages that should be isolated, and the symptom is a pump that runs erratically, stalls at the end of a stroke, or exhausts continuously without cycling. Q: How often should gaskets be replaced?
Every time the joint is opened, and as a matter of course whenever the air valve or pilot valve is being serviced for a running fault.
Q: Can I reuse a gasket that came off in one piece?
It is not worth it. The gasket has taken a set in the joint and has lost the compression it needs to seal, and an internal air leak is difficult to diagnose once the pump is back together.
Q: The pump runs erratically or stalls. Could a gasket be the cause?
Yes, and it is a common one. A blown gasket lets air cross between passages, so the valve never gets a clean signal to shift and the pump hesitates, stalls or exhausts continuously.
Q: Does it matter which way round the gasket goes?
Yes. The holes match the port pattern of that joint and are often not symmetrical. Fitting one reversed blocks a passage and the pump will not cycle.
