Yamada 711227 Valve Seat, aluminum for NDP-15
The Yamada 711227 is the genuine replacement valve seat specified for NDP-15 Series pumps with aluminum wet ends. Together with the ball above it, it forms one of the four check valves that give the pump its direction of flow.
A worn seat and a worn ball produce the same symptoms: falling output, slow priming, and product draining back down the suction line when the pump stops. Because they wear as a pair it is normal to replace them as a pair, and the seat O-ring underneath should go back new as well since it is already out.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Which way round does the seat fit?
Each seat is handed for flow, with the ball landing on the machined face. Fitting one upside down gives a pump that runs but delivers almost nothing, so note the orientation before removing the old ones.
Q: Does the seat O-ring need replacing too?
Yes, whenever the seat is disturbed. It is already out, it is inexpensive, and a seat that seals perfectly can still leak around its outside diameter.
Q: Why did the seat wear so fast?
Abrasive solids are the usual answer, along with running at higher air pressure than the duty needs, which increases the speed the ball strikes the seat on every stroke.
Q: Can I mix seat materials in one pump?
Do not. All four check valves should be the same material so they wear at the same rate and share the duty evenly.
