Yamada 710577 Pilot Valve Spring for NDP-15
The Yamada 710577 is the genuine pilot valve spring for NDP-15 Series pumps. It provides the return force in the valve it belongs to, and the rate of that spring is part of the timing that decides when the pump shifts from one stroke to the next.
Corrosion is the other failure, and it comes from moisture in the air supply. A pitted spring breaks without warning, and the broken piece travels into the valve where it jams the moving parts. A water trap on the air supply does more for spring life than anything else.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What causes a spring to corrode?
Moisture carried in the compressed air. A filter and water trap on the air supply is the single most effective way to extend the life of every part inside the air motor.
Q: What happens if a spring breaks?
The valve loses its return and the pump usually stops mid stroke. The broken piece stays in the valve, so the assembly needs to be cleaned out as well as re-sprung.
Q: Can I stretch a tired spring to restore it?
No. Stretching changes free length without restoring rate, and the timing ends up wrong in a way that is hard to diagnose later.
Q: How can I tell a spring has relaxed?
Compare its free length against the new one side by side. A spring that is visibly shorter has lost rate, and a spring with corrosion pitting should be replaced whatever its length.
