Q: Does the air motor need lubricated air?
These pumps are designed to run on clean dry air without a lubricator. What matters far more is keeping moisture and debris out.
Q: Can I replace one air motor part on its own?
You can, but if the assembly is open it is worth renewing the gaskets, seal rings and springs at the same time. They are inexpensive and reaching them is the expensive part.
Q: Why does the pump exhaust continuously without cycling?
Air is crossing between passages that should be isolated - a failed gasket, a worn seal ring or a valve face that is no longer flat.
Q: Does air pressure affect how long the air motor lasts?
Yes. Running at more pressure than the duty needs increases impact and wear throughout the motor, so set the regulator to the lowest pressure that gives the flow you need.
