Weinman B5295-L13 Lexide Case Gasket for 2SC

Q: Can I cut my own from sheet material?
You can make something that holds pressure, but you will be guessing at thickness and compressibility. Since the thickness sets the spacing across the joint, a home-cut replacement can alter internal clearances in ways that only show up as lost performance.
Q: Should the bolts be retightened after the pump has run?
Check them once the pump has been up to temperature and cooled again. Gaskets relax slightly as they bed in, and a single even re-torque in a cross pattern often settles a joint that was weeping lightly.
