Tuthill P606-10 Bearing Lockwasher W-08 Steel
The Tuthill P606-10 is a genuine bearing lockwasher in the W-08 size, made in steel. The lockwasher sits under the bearing locknut, keyed to the shaft, and its tabs are bent up to stop the nut backing off in service. Skip it or reuse it and the bearing will eventually walk on the shaft, taking the clearance with it.
A lockwasher has an inner tang that keys into the shaft slot and outer tabs that are bent up into a slot in the nut once the bearing is set. The matching nut is P606-9, and the smaller W-05, W-06 and W-07 sizes are published as P606-2, P606-25 and P606-31. Tighten the nut to seat the bearing squarely, then bend a tab into the nut slot. Do not overtighten in the hope of avoiding the tab, because the preload matters as much as the retention does.

Q: Are the nut and washer sold together?
They are listed as separate part numbers, so order both if both are coming off.

The washer goes on under the nut with its inner tang in the shaft slot, then the nut is run down against it.
Q: Can the old one be reused?
A lockwasher, no. Once a tab has been bent and straightened it will crack. A nut can sometimes be reused if the slots are undamaged, but replacing both is cheap.
