The Tuthill 20345500 is genuine shaft packing for Tuthill HD Series rotary lobe process pumps. Packing is the traditional shaft sealing arrangement on a process pump, and on the HD Series it is held in the stuffing boxes by the packing glands, which the parts list shows in both solid and split forms depending on whether the pump is built in iron or stainless.
