Tuthill 0L81-C Mounting Foot for LE Series 56 Frame Pumps
The Tuthill 0L81-C is a genuine mounting foot for Tuthill LE Series internal gear pumps. A bolt on foot turns a flange mounted pump into a base mounted one, carrying the weight of the pump and the piping load away from the drive so the shaft is not asked to take it. Getting the mounting right is what stops piping strain turning into hot bearings, worn couplings and vibration.
Tuthill lists this as the optional mounting foot for the L Series and publishes its hole pattern in the series dimension sheets, so a base plate can be drilled before the pump arrives. The matching LA Series foot is 0L81-A. Once the pump is mounted, turn the shaft by hand before power is applied. It should turn freely with a definite resistance, and anything binding at that stage is a mounting problem rather than a pump problem.
