Sta-Rite WC78-39T Pipe Plug
The Sta-Rite WC78-39T is a 1/2 in tapered pipe plug, threaded into an unused port on the pump body to seal it off, or removed temporarily to drain the pump before winter or service.
A plug that has been threaded and removed repeatedly can round off or crack, especially in a plastic housing, and a worn one is a common source of a small weep at a port that is not even in use. Replace it if it no longer seats tightly by hand plus a light turn with a wrench.
