The Roper 3611HB is a 3600 Series heavy duty cast iron gear pump in the HB configuration: a tapped port case with an outboard ball bearing, and no relief valve. The figure number reads directly: the leading 3 is right angle ports, the 6 is the packed box seal, and the 11 is displacement at 0.11 gallons per revolution. That gives up to 84.8 gallons per minute at the 750 revolutions per minute maximum, through 2 inch NPT tapped ports, at differential pressures to 125 pounds per square inch.
The 3600 Series is the workhorse of the Roper range and this is close to its plainest form. Four heavy duty bronze sleeve bearings support the helical gears, the plates are located to the case on hardened steel dowel pins so the gear bores stay true, and the outboard ball bearing takes external radial load from a belt or coupling and absorbs the thrust the helical gears generate. It runs equally well in either direction. Shipped standard with graphite packing and bronze bushings, it is built for mixing, blending, recirculating and transfer, and it handles thin liquids such as gasoline and fuel oil as readily as heavy ones like asphalt and molasses.

Q: What does HB mean on a 3600 model number?
It is the configuration code for a tapped port case with an outboard ball bearing. Adding F makes the ports flanged and adding RV adds an integral relief valve.
Q: Can rotation be changed after delivery?
Yes. Roper builds these to a rotation arrangement, and the pump can be stripped and rebuilt to a different one in the field without any new parts.
