Part number 320-2936-015 is the genuine Moyno replacement rotor in 316 stainless steel for the Moyno 500 Model 333. Rotors wear from the outside in. Abrasive particles polish and then cut the crests of the helix, and on plated rotors the plating eventually breaks through and exposes softer base metal underneath. From that point the rotor becomes the abrasive, and it will destroy a new stator far faster than normal service would. A rotor with visible scoring, a dull patchy surface or measurable flats on the crests has reached the end of its useful life. Q: How do I tell a worn rotor from a corroded one?
Wear leaves smooth bright flats along the crests of the helix where the seal line ran. Corrosion and cavitation leave a rough pitted texture that looks eaten away. The first is normal service life, the second points at a chemistry or suction problem worth fixing first.
