Pulsafeeder LC54SA-PTC1-500 Metering Pump
The Pulsafeeder LC54SA-PTC1-500 is a Pulsatron Series C electronic solenoid diaphragm metering pump rated at 30 gallons per day (1.25 GPH) against up to 80 PSI, powered from 115 VAC, 50/60 Hz. The liquid end is glass-filled polypropylene (GFPPL) with PTFE seats and O-rings and ceramic check valve balls, connected with 1/4 in ID x 3/8 in OD tubing. GFPPL is the general purpose head material and handles most water treatment chemicals, including cooling tower and boiler treatment programs. It is fitted with the factory five function valve on the discharge, which adds pressure relief, back pressure, anti-siphon, air bleed and discharge drain functions in one assembly.
Control is by manual on/off with on-line adjustable stroke length (10:1 turndown), at up to 125 strokes per minute. The diaphragm pump design is sealless and leak free at the liquid end, guided ball check valves help it prime and hold prime, and the drive is fully enclosed with thermal overload protection on the solenoid. When the time comes to service it, the matching rebuild kit is KOPkit K4PTC1, which renews the head, diaphragm and both valve cartridges in one go.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can it pump directly into a pressurized line?
Yes, up to the rated 80 PSI at the injection point. The injection valve supplied with the pump keeps the line from backing into the discharge tubing.
Q: How do I set the output?
Start with the stroke length and stroke rate at a mid setting, measure what the pump actually delivers with a calibration column or by timing a draw down, then adjust. Output is proportional to both settings.
Q: Can it be mounted outdoors?
The enclosure is water resistant for indoor and outdoor installations, but keep it out of direct sun and use UV resistant black discharge tubing if the tubing is exposed.
Q: Why does the pump lose prime on sodium hypochlorite?
Hypochlorite releases gas that collects in the head. Mounting the pump with a flooded suction and bleeding the head regularly helps, and a degassing valve is the permanent fix.
