Pulsafeeder K2PHC1 Size 2 KOPkit
The Pulsafeeder K2PHC1 is a genuine Pulsatron KOPkit (Keep On Pumping kit) for size 2 Pulsatron solenoid diaphragm metering pumps with the PHC1 wet end code. It rebuilds the complete liquid end in one go: a new GFPPL pump head, PTFE-faced diaphragm, suction and discharge valve cartridges with CSPE seats and O-rings and ceramic check valve balls, diaphragm shims, head screws and washers, and a bleed valve O-ring, with an exploded view drawing to follow. The parts are sealed in the bag so a kit kept on the shelf stays clean until it is needed. GFPPL is the general purpose head material and handles most water treatment chemicals, including cooling tower and boiler treatment programs. Q: Why is the pump losing prime after a rebuild?
Usually air in the suction line or a valve cartridge fitted upside down. The cartridges are directional, so check the flow arrows before tightening, then use the bleed valve to purge the head.
Q: How often should a Pulsatron be rebuilt?
Most installations plan on a rebuild every year, and sooner on aggressive chemicals or continuous duty. Keeping a kit on the shelf means a failure costs minutes rather than days.
Q: Do I need to reuse the old shims?
If you know how many shims were fitted under the old diaphragm, use the same number. If not, the setup procedure in the kit drawing shows how to shim the new diaphragm from scratch.
Q: What should the stroke length be set to during the rebuild?
Set the stroke length to 50 percent and unplug the pump before removing the diaphragm. That positions the shaft correctly for the new diaphragm to be threaded on.
