This is the genuine Oberdorfer 999R-03 gear. Oberdorfer specifies cast bronze gears running in bronze bodies precisely because the pair wears slowly and predictably against each other in the fluids these pumps are built for.
Gears are replaced as a set in most rebuilds. Running one new gear against one worn one puts the whole mesh load on the new teeth and simply moves the wear rather than fixing it.
Check the bore and the end clearance with the gears out. If the housing has worn as well, a new gear alone will not bring back the pressure the pump used to hold.
