Lovejoy L110 Jaw Coupling Hub, 3/4 in Bore

Because the coupling comes apart into two hubs and a spider, a worn spider can be replaced without pulling the motor or pump off its mounts, and the coupling continues to turn even if the spider fails completely, since the two sets of jaws will interlock rather than let the shafts spin freely.
The spider between the two hubs is the wear item in this coupling, and it should be inspected periodically for cracking, chunking, or a change in color that signals it is drying out. The sintered iron hub itself is built to outlast several spiders under normal use, and it is typically only replaced after a shaft has been re-machined to a different diameter, after a set screw has slipped and damaged the bore, or when a coupling is being resized for a different motor. Measure the actual shaft diameter before ordering, since L110 hubs are size-specific and not interchangeable with a different L-Series size.

Q: What happens if the bore is larger than my shaft?
An oversized bore will not grip the shaft correctly even with the set screw tightened. Do not attempt to bush down a bore that is too large; order the correct bore size instead.

No, this bore is supplied without a keyway and relies on the set screw alone. A keyway can be added by a machine shop if the application calls for it.
Q: How is the hub secured to the shaft?

Q: Can the spider be changed without removing this hub?
