Lovejoy L090 Jaw Coupling Hub, 3/4 in Bore
The Lovejoy L090 is a sintered iron hub, one half of the industry-standard L-Series jaw coupling used to connect motor, pump, and gearbox shafts that are closely but not perfectly aligned. This hub is finished to a 3/4 in bore and secured with a set screw. A complete coupling needs a second L090 hub for the mating shaft and an elastomer spider that fits between the two sets of jaws and transmits torque while absorbing shock and vibration.
Because torque passes through the elastomer spider rather than through direct metal contact between the hubs, the sintered iron hub sees very little wear during normal operation and rarely needs replacement on its own. When it does, it is usually because a shaft has been changed, a set screw has spun in the bore, or a technician is standardizing several pumps on the same coupling size. Order a matching spider at the same time if the one already in service has not been checked recently.
