Lovejoy AL100 Aluminum Jaw Coupling Hub, 7/8 in Bore
Lovejoy builds the AL100 aluminum jaw coupling hub to the same bore and jaw geometry as its cast and sintered iron L100 counterpart, so it drops into the same size class of coupling while cutting the weight roughly in half. This particular hub is finished to a 7/8 in bore and secured to the shaft with a set screw. It is sold as one of the two hubs needed to complete an AL100 coupling; the second hub and the elastomer spider that connects them are separate parts.
Because the coupling has no metal-to-metal contact between the two hubs in normal operation, wear concentrates almost entirely in the elastomer spider rather than in the aluminum hub.
