This Jabsco 3255-0000 2/3 cam is the offset cam block that pinches the impeller vanes as they pass, which is what actually creates the pumping action in a flexible impeller pump. The cam face wears flat over time and loses the correct eccentricity, and the impeller can no longer seal fully against it.
