The Jabsco 2999-0001 is a large genuine Jabsco flexible impeller made of neoprene, with 13 blades, a 5 inch (127 mm) diameter, a 4 inch (102 mm) width and a brass spline-drive hub for a 1-1/2 inch (38 mm) shaft. It is built for big, high-volume Jabsco flexible impeller pumps used in engine cooling, transfer and industrial duties.
Neoprene is the standard impeller compound for engine cooling and fresh or salt water transfer, with a working range of 45 to 180 F, and it tolerates only small amounts of oil or diesel. On large pumps a worn impeller means a big loss of flow, so replace it at least yearly or on the equipment's service schedule, and keep a spare ready for critical systems.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I get a large impeller into the pump?
Lubricate the blades and bore with glycerin, bend the blades in the direction of rotation and rotate the impeller as you press it in.
Q: Can this impeller be used for oily bilge water?
Only where small amounts of oil are present. Use a nitrile impeller for regularly oily liquids.
Q: What should I inspect while the pump is open?
Check the wear plate, cam and end cover for scoring, and replace the cover gasket.
Q: How long can the pump run dry after the change?
No more than about 30 seconds. Make sure liquid reaches the pump quickly at start-up.
Not sure this is the right part? Send us a Picture of the Pump Plate on your pump and the CLR Marine team will confirm the correct impeller.
