Jabsco 18400-0050 Bronze Engine Cooling Pump, 3/4 in NPT
The Jabsco 18400-0050 is a flange mounted bronze engine cooling pump with 3/4 in NPT ports, built as the raw water pump for a 15 kW marine generator set. It uses the 1210-0001 neoprene impeller, a lip type shaft seal, the 11830-0000 end cover and the 18404-0000 shaft, and it delivers about 5.8 GPM at 1500 RPM.
Raw water engine cooling pumps supply sea water to the heat exchanger, so worn internal parts show up as rising engine temperature, slow priming and reduced overboard flow. Replace the impeller on a set schedule, inspect the cam, wearplate and end cover faces at the same time, and rebuild the seals and bearings before they leak. Close the seacock only with the engine stopped.
