The Jabsco 18220-1121 is the Jabsco run-dry Ballast Puppy, a 12 volt reversible bronze flexible impeller pump for filling and emptying wakeboard and ski boat water ballast bags and tanks. It delivers about 11 GPM through 1/2 in internal pipe threads and 1 in external hose barb ports, and its run-dry design tolerates the dry running that happens at the end of every fill and empty cycle.
These bronze flexible impeller pumps self-prime, handle small debris and can be mounted in any position, which is why they are used for bilge, washdown, livewell and transfer duty. Keep suction lines airtight so the pump can prime, drain it before freezing weather, and never let it run dry because the impeller depends on the liquid for lubrication.
