Jabsco 18080-0000 Permanent Oil Drain Hose Kit, 1/2-20
The Jabsco 18080-0000 is the Jabsco permanent oil drain hose and fitting kit. It replaces a standard 1/2-20 thread engine or gear case drain plug with a fitting and hose that stay installed, so at oil change time the hose is simply routed to a container and opened, with no reaching under a hot engine and no oil in the bilge.
Changing oil through the dipstick tube or a permanently plumbed drain line keeps used oil off the engine and out of the bilge, which is why oil change pumps are standard equipment on many boats. Warm the engine first so the oil flows freely, keep the suction end at the bottom of the sump, and never let a flexible impeller pump run dry for more than a few seconds.
