The Jabsco 17860-2012 is the Jabsco 12 volt flat tank oil changer, a self-contained oil change system with a 3.5 gallon flat collection tank. It pulls old oil out through the dipstick tube into the low profile tank, which slides into tight spaces and carries the used oil to disposal.
Changing oil through the dipstick tube or a permanently plumbed drain line keeps used oil off the engine and out of the bilge, which is why oil change pumps are standard equipment on many boats. Warm the engine first so the oil flows freely, keep the suction end at the bottom of the sump, and never let a flexible impeller pump run dry for more than a few seconds.
