Jabsco 17850-1012 12V Economy Oil Changer
The Jabsco 17850-1012 is the Jabsco 12 volt economy engine oil changer, a portable diaphragm pump system that extracts engine oil through the dipstick tube. It will draw oil up to 50 weight at about 70 F, and a typical engine sump is emptied in a few minutes.
Changing oil through the dipstick tube or a permanently plumbed drain line keeps used oil off the engine and out of the bilge, which is why oil change pumps are standard equipment on many boats. Warm the engine first so the oil flows freely, keep the suction end at the bottom of the sump, and never let a flexible impeller pump run dry for more than a few seconds.
