Jabsco 17820-0024 Oil Change System, 24V
The Jabsco 17820-0024 is the Jabsco 24 volt oil change system, a bronze flexible impeller pump with a nitrile impeller and a nitrile lip seal, close coupled to a 24 VDC motor and mounted with a manifold of three ball valves. It is installed in the engine room with the valves permanently plumbed to the engine oil pans or transmission sumps, so each reservoir can be emptied from one place without moving the pump.
Changing oil through the dipstick tube or a permanently plumbed drain line keeps used oil off the engine and out of the bilge, which is why oil change pumps are standard equipment on many boats. Warm the engine first so the oil flows freely, keep the suction end at the bottom of the sump, and never let a flexible impeller pump run dry for more than a few seconds.
