Jabsco 17810-1300 Marine Engine Cooling Pump
The Jabsco 17810-1300 is a bronze flexible impeller marine engine cooling pump built as the raw water pump for inline six and four cylinder marine diesel engines. It uses the 17935-0001 neoprene impeller, a 6408-0000 mechanical seal and a full thickness cam, and it is supported by the Jabsco 17810-1300MNK minor and 17810-1300MJK major rebuild kits.
Raw water engine cooling pumps supply sea water to the heat exchanger, so worn internal parts show up as rising engine temperature, slow priming and reduced overboard flow. Replace the impeller on a set schedule, inspect the cam, wearplate and end cover faces at the same time, and rebuild the seals and bearings before they leak. Close the seacock only with the engine stopped.
