The Jabsco 17795-1000 is the genuine suction hose for the Jabsco bucket oil changer, 1/2 in inside diameter by 48 in long. It is the hose that goes down the dipstick tube or to the drain fitting to draw used oil out of the engine.
Changing oil through the dipstick tube or a permanently plumbed drain line keeps used oil off the engine and out of the bilge, which is why oil change pumps are standard equipment on many boats. Warm the engine first so the oil flows freely, keep the suction end at the bottom of the sump, and never let a flexible impeller pump run dry for more than a few seconds.
