Jabsco 17366-1000 Stainless Steel Pump Shaft

Q: Why does a new seal keep leaking on my old shaft?
Lip and face seals wear a track into the shaft where they run. Once the surface is grooved, a new seal cannot grip it, and only a new shaft stops the leak.

Yes. The pump has to be fully dismantled to fit a shaft, and bearings that have run with a worn shaft are rarely worth refitting.
