Jabsco 14346-0002B EPDM Impeller, 12 Blade
The Jabsco 14346-0002B is a genuine Jabsco flexible impeller in EPDM. It has 12 blades, a 3-3/4 in diameter and a 2-1/2 in width, with a 1 in double flat shaft, epoxy plastic hub. As it turns inside the offset pump body, the blades bend and straighten, drawing liquid in and pushing it out, which is what makes a flexible impeller pump self-priming. It is listed for Jabsco 30530 and 30570 series stainless steel pumps and 28440 series pump heads.
EPDM is chosen for hot water, many cleaning and sanitizing solutions and a range of mild acids and alkalis, but it is not suitable for oils or fuels. Impellers are wear parts. Replace one when blades are cracked, torn or have taken a permanent set in the curved position, when the pump is slow to prime, or after it has run dry even briefly. Lubricate the new impeller with a little water pump grease before fitting it, and fit a new end cover gasket or O-ring at the same time.
