Jabsco 14282-0001B Neoprene Impeller, 8 Blade
The Jabsco 14282-0001B is a genuine Jabsco flexible impeller in neoprene. It has 8 blades, a 2-9/16 in diameter and a 2 in width, with a 5/8 in double flat shaft, epoxy plastic hub. As it turns inside the offset pump body, the blades bend and straighten, drawing liquid in and pushing it out, which is what makes a flexible impeller pump self-priming. Neoprene is the general purpose compound for water, raw water cooling and mildly abrasive liquids. Impellers are wear parts. Replace one when blades are cracked, torn or have taken a permanent set in the curved position, when the pump is slow to prime, or after it has run dry even briefly. Lubricate the new impeller with a little water pump grease before fitting it, and fit a new end cover gasket or O-ring at the same time.
