Jabsco 12590-0021 Replacement Pump Head, FKM Impeller
The Jabsco 12590-0021 is a complete replacement pump head, supplied without a motor, for Jabsco 12290-0004 and 12290-0274 self-priming pumps. It is the whole pump end in one assembly, in phenolic plastic with a FKM flexible impeller, ready to mount on the existing motor.
Replacing the complete head is the quickest repair when the body is worn, cracked from freezing or damaged by dry running, or when several internal parts are worn at once. It gets the pump back in service without chasing individual parts. FKM fluoroelastomer is chosen for hydrocarbons, solvents and many aggressive chemicals, and for higher liquid temperatures, although it primes less strongly than neoprene or nitrile. Lubricate the motor shaft lightly before sliding the new head on, and check that the suction connections are airtight on restart.
