Jabsco 12520-1274 Bronze Self-Priming Pump, 1/4 HP 115V, FKM Impeller
The Jabsco 12520-1274 is a bronze self-priming pump and motor unit close coupled to a 1/4 HP, 1725 RPM, 115 VAC motor with an 8 ft cord and three prong plug. The pump end is bronze with a FKM flexible impeller and an FKM lip type shaft seal, with 3/8 in NPT internal and 3/4 in garden hose external ports.
It has a nominal flow of about 6 GPM and a vertical dry suction lift of about 3 ft with the FKM impeller, provided the suction line is airtight. The FKM impeller and seal are the choice for hydrocarbons, solvents and many aggressive chemicals, at the cost of a lower dry lift. Like every flexible impeller pump it must not run dry and should be drained before freezing weather.

Q: Which port is the inlet?
Motor rotation decides it. Check the arrow or the pump instructions, and plumb the suction line to the inlet port.
Q: What do I do before freezing weather?
Drain the pump by loosening the end cover so trapped water cannot freeze and crack the body or cover.
Q: Why will it not self-prime?
Almost always an air leak on the suction side. Every suction connection must be airtight for the pump to pull a vacuum.
Q: What is the main service part?
The impeller. Keep a spare with the matching compound, plus an end cover gasket.
