Jabsco 12498-0003 Replacement Pump Head, Nitrile Impeller
The Jabsco 12498-0003 is a complete replacement pump head, supplied without a motor, for the Jabsco 12490-0003 stainless steel pump and motor unit. It is the whole pump end in one assembly, in 316 stainless steel with a nitrile flexible impeller, ready to mount on the existing motor.
Replacing the complete head is the quickest repair when the body is worn, cracked from freezing or damaged by dry running, or when several internal parts are worn at once. It gets the pump back in service without chasing individual parts. Nitrile is the compound to choose where oils, fuels or other petroleum products are present, since it resists swelling where neoprene would soften. Lubricate the motor shaft lightly before sliding the new head on, and check that the suction connections are airtight on restart.
