Jabsco 11810-0001 Bronze Utility Pump, 1/3 HP 115V
The Jabsco 11810-0001 is a portable bronze self-priming utility pump close coupled to a 1/3 HP, 115 VAC, 60 Hz, 1725 RPM single phase open drip proof motor, with a carry handle and an 8 ft cord with a three prong grounded plug. The pump end is bronze with a neoprene flexible impeller, a replaceable wearplate, a lip type shaft seal and a stainless steel sleeve over the motor shaft, and the ports take a 3/4 in garden hose on the outside with an internal pipe thread for hard plumbing.
It will self-prime with a suction lift approaching 10 ft when dry and up to 22 ft once primed, and it is rated for continuous pressures up to 20 PSI. The pump can be mounted in any position, and the direction of motor rotation sets which port is the inlet. Like every flexible impeller pump it relies on the liquid for lubrication, so it should not run dry for more than about 30 seconds, and it should be drained by loosening the end cover before freezing weather. An optional vacuum switch can be added to shut it off automatically when it runs dry.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can the pump end be replaced separately?
Yes. The complete replacement pump head is Jabsco 11818-0001, which fits the same motor.
Q: Can it pump oil or fuel?
The -0001 model has a neoprene impeller for water service. For oils choose a nitrile impeller version, and never use this motor where flammable vapors are present.
Q: Which port is the inlet?
Motor rotation decides it. Looking at the end cover, the right hand port is the inlet in normal rotation.
Q: How long can it run dry?
No more than about 30 seconds. The impeller depends on the liquid for lubrication and will be damaged by longer dry running.
