Jabsco 1051-0000 Slinger
The Jabsco 1051-0000 is a genuine replacement slinger for Jabsco flexible impeller pumps. The slinger is a small ring that rides on the shaft between the shaft seal and the bearing or motor. If the shaft seal weeps, the spinning slinger throws the liquid off the shaft and out through the drain opening in the pump body before it can creep along to the bearing or into the motor. Jabsco uses this part number on specific pump models only, so match it against the parts list for the model number on your pump plate before ordering.
It is an inexpensive part that does an important job, and it is easy to leave out or damage during a rebuild. A missing, split or loose slinger lets seal leakage travel straight into the bearing or motor, which turns a small seal drip into a much bigger repair. Fit a new slinger whenever the shaft seal is replaced, and position it on the shaft as shown in the pump instructions so it clears the seal housing.
