Finish Thompson MSKCVCVN1522 MSKC MSKC Multistage Magnetic Drive Pump End
The MSKCVCVN1522 is a Finish Thompson MSKC multistage sealless magnetic drive pump end built in PVDF. It is supplied as the pump end, ready to mount on a motor of the matching frame. Two impellers in series build the head rather than one, so the pump reaches pressures a single stage body of the same size cannot, and it does it with no shaft seal anywhere in the fluid path.
The build is robust, and service life in practice is decided at the control valve and the suction rather than in the casing. Keep solids out of the suction and avoid running against a closed discharge, since a decoupled magnet set builds heat quickly and can lose strength permanently.
Key Features
- Two stage design for higher head than a single stage pump of the same size
- PVDF wetted construction
- Sealless magnetic drive with no shaft seal and no leak path
- Carbon bushing on a ceramic shaft
- Interstage diffuser with its own elastomer seal
Applications
- High head chemical circulation and transfer
- Spray headers and nozzle feeds needing pressure
- Filtration loops and reverse osmosis feed duty
- Plating, etching and surface finishing lines
- Applications where a single stage pump cannot reach the required head

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does stainless construction suit every chemical?
No. Stainless handles solvents, fuels and many process fluids well, but chlorides and strong acids attack it where a lined or thermoplastic pump would not.
Q: What does the impeller trim change?
It sets where the pump sits on its curve, so a smaller trim gives less head and draws less power from the same motor.
Q: Should the pump be run against a throttled discharge?
Briefly for control, yes, but a pump run hard against the stop recirculates and heats the fluid around the seal.
Q: How important is alignment on a close coupled pump?
The motor and pump share a machined register, so alignment is fixed at assembly and the register faces must be clean and undamaged.
