Finish Thompson GP11PVB01455C GP11 Polypropylene Wet End
The GP11PVB01455C is a Finish Thompson GP11 sealed centrifugal pump wet end built in polypropylene. It is supplied as the wet end alone, the fluid handling section that mounts to the motor adapter. The wetted parts are polypropylene, and the shaft is sealed by a mechanical seal rather than a magnetic coupling, which is what lets this range handle duties beyond the reach of a sealless pump.
The build is robust, and service life in practice is decided at the control valve and the suction rather than in the casing. Keep the suction flooded, avoid dead heading, and never start the pump dry, because the mechanical seal is what pays for any of the three.
Key Features
- Polypropylene wetted construction for corrosive duty
- Mechanical shaft seal with carbon and ceramic faces
- Close coupled to a standard motor frame

- Serviceable seal and impeller without replacing the pump
Applications
- Acid, caustic and plating chemical transfer
- Scrubber, filtration and water treatment circulation
- Etching, anodizing and metal finishing systems
- Chemical blending and tank transfer
- Replacing a metallic pump that is being attacked by the process fluid

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What limits the life of the mechanical seal?
Dry running above all, then thermal shock and solids working between the faces. A seal that has run dry rarely recovers.
Q: Can the seal be changed without pulling the pump from the pipework?
On the back pull out models yes, the rotating assembly comes out with the motor and the casing stays bolted in place.
Q: Does stainless construction suit every chemical?
No. Stainless handles solvents, fuels and many process fluids well, but chlorides and strong acids attack it where a lined or thermoplastic pump would not.
Q: What does the impeller trim change?
It sets where the pump sits on its curve, so a smaller trim gives less head and draws less power from the same motor.
