Finish Thompson BPC-27 BPC Laboratory Drum Pump 27 Inch
The BPC-27 is a Finish Thompson BP drum and container pump with a 27 inch tube, built in CPVC. It is supplied as the pump tube and is driven by a matched Finish Thompson motor. CPVC wetted parts and a short 27 inch tube make this the bench and laboratory size, meant for carboys and small containers rather than 55 gallon drums.
It exists so that product comes out of the container under control rather than over the lip of it. Keep the tube flushed after use, fit a strainer where sediment is likely, and match the hose and nozzle to the fluid, because most drum pump failures start with something drawn off the bottom of the container.

With a fluid compatible with both the product and the pump materials, run long enough to clear the full length of the tube.

Wherever sediment may have settled in the container, since debris reaching the impeller is the most common avoidable failure.
Q: What limits the hose size that can be used?
Static safety does. Fluid velocity should stay low enough that charge cannot build, which in practice means matching hose bore to the duty.
Q: Can any motor be fitted to any pump tube?
No. The motor and tube are matched as a system, and the coupling, mounting and power rating all have to correspond.
