Flojet 20381-007 Quad Port Kit, Garden Hose, Pair
The Flojet 20381-007 is the genuine pair of Quad-Port snap-in fittings with garden hose thread connections and EPDM O-rings. It puts the universal garden hose standard on both the inlet and the outlet of the pump.
This is the arrangement that turns a fixed pump into a portable one. With garden hose threads at both ends you can connect an ordinary hose to the inlet, drop it into a tank, drum or dock well, and run another from the outlet to wherever the water needs to go — all without a single tool or a permanent plumbing connection. It suits transfer work, filling and emptying tanks, washdown duty, and any job where the pump earns its keep by being moved to the water rather than plumbed in beside it.
The threads themselves seal on a rubber washer in the female coupling, not on the threads, so they need no sealant and no force — hand tight against a sound washer is correct, and over-tightening simply crushes the washer. Check those washers before blaming a fitting for a drip. On the pump side, push each fitting fully home, confirm the O-ring is seated and fit both clips before pressurising.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do garden hose connections need sealant?
No. They seal on a rubber washer in the female coupling, so sealant on the threads achieves nothing. Hand tight against a good washer is all that is needed.
Q: My connection drips even when tight. What now?
Change the washer. They flatten with age, take a set if left connected under pressure for months, and perish in sunlight — and they are the cause of most of these drips.
Q: Will an ordinary garden hose work on the suction side?
It can collapse under suction, because most garden hose is not built for negative pressure. Use reinforced suction hose on the inlet for reliable priming.
Q: Is garden hose thread the same everywhere?
No. The 3/4 in. standard used in North America differs from threads used in some other regions, so equipment sourced elsewhere may need an adapter.
