The Flojet 20381-002 is the genuine pair of Quad-Port snap-in fittings with 1/2" straight hose barbs and EPDM O-rings. The pair covers the pump’s inlet and outlet.
Half-inch barbed hose is the most common way these pumps are plumbed, and there is good reason for it beyond familiarity. A short length of flexible hose at each port lets the pump move on its mounting grommets without working the plumbing joints, and it absorbs the vibration that rigid tubing would carry straight into the structure. Combined with the snap-in port design — no threads, no sealant, nothing to cross-thread — it makes for an installation that goes together quickly and comes apart again just as easily when the pump needs servicing.
Push each fitting fully into the pump housing until the clip can be inserted, check the O-ring is undamaged and squarely seated, and fit the clip before pressurising. On the hose side, warm a stiff hose before pushing it fully onto the barb and secure it with a clamp behind the last ridge. Keep clamps away from the port body itself, where a distorted bore means a leaking O-ring.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why use flexible hose at the pump rather than rigid tubing?
Because the pump moves. A short flexible tail lets it vibrate on its grommets without working the joints, and it stops that vibration travelling into the structure.
Q: How long should the flexible section be?
Long enough to form a gentle loop. A hose pulled taut between two fixed points transmits vibration almost as well as rigid pipe.
Q: Do the barbs need clamps?
Yes, one at each. The barb grips the hose but the clamp is what stops it creeping off under pressure pulses and vibration.
Q: Can I fit these ports to a pump with threaded inlets?
No. The snap-in fitting requires a Quad-Port housing. A threaded pump needs threaded fittings instead.
