Flojet 20132-005 Fan Shroud Kit
The Flojet 20132-005 is the genuine fan shroud kit for Flojet pumps. The shroud is the moulded cover around the motor’s cooling fan, and its job is to direct airflow rather than simply to guard it.
That distinction is the reason a shroud matters. A fan on an open shaft mostly churns air in a circle; it moves a lot of it and sends very little anywhere useful. The shroud confines that air and channels it along the motor casing, so it actually carries heat away from the windings instead of swirling around them. Remove the shroud, or run with a cracked one, and cooling efficiency drops sharply even though the fan is turning exactly as fast as before.
The consequences take a while to appear and are easy to attribute elsewhere. A motor running hotter than it should degrades its winding insulation gradually, and the failure that eventually results looks like a motor that simply wore out.
