Flojet 02095-100 Pressure Switch, 40-60 PSI
The Flojet 02095-100 is the genuine pressure switch with a 40-60 PSI band. The pump starts when line pressure falls to around 40 PSI and stops once it has built back to around 60.
A 40 PSI cut-in is the detail worth noticing here. On a system set to start at 40, the pressure at the tap never falls below that figure before the pump intervenes, which means the flow stays strong throughout the draw rather than tailing off and then recovering. Compare that with a switch cutting in at 20, where the last part of each cycle is noticeably weaker than the first. For showers in particular, a higher cut-in is what makes the difference between water that feels consistent and water that pulses.
The trade-off is that the whole system lives at a higher pressure, so the plumbing, fittings and clamps are all working harder than they would at 35 PSI. Confirm the pump can reach 60 PSI, or it will never cut out, and check that the fittings downstream are comfortable at that level. Replace the switch when it chatters, cycles rapidly with no tap open, or no longer shuts the pump off — after first ruling out a leak that is bleeding the pressure down.
Key Features
- Genuine Flojet (Xylem) service part — correct switch and mounting for the pump
- 40-60 PSI cut-in and cut-out band
- High cut-in keeps flow strong throughout the draw rather than tailing off
- Well suited to showers, where consistent pressure is noticeable
- Restores correct automatic start and stop after switch failure
Applications
- Flojet demand water systems specifying a 40-60 PSI switch
- Installations with showers where consistent pressure matters
- Systems with multiple outlets in use at once
- Replacing a switch that chatters, cycles or fails to cut out
- Marine, RV and mobile pressurised water systems

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why does the cut-in pressure matter more than the cut-out?
Because the cut-in is the lowest pressure your outlets ever see. The cut-out sets the peak; the cut-in sets how weak things get before the pump comes to the rescue.
Q: Does this setting use more power?
Somewhat. The pump works against higher pressure for longer on each cycle, so the current draw over time is greater than it would be on a lower setting.
Q: Will it make the pump noisier?
A little, because the motor is loaded more heavily. Soft mounts under the pump and a short flexible section in the plumbing make more difference to perceived noise than the pressure setting does.
Q: Is an accumulator worth fitting with this switch?
Very much so. The higher the operating band, the more energy is released each time the switch cycles, and an accumulator smooths that out and reduces the number of starts.
