The Flojet 02091-150 is the genuine 150 PSI pressure switch kit — the top of the range, and a setting reserved for specialist high-pressure equipment.
One hundred and fifty PSI is more than four times the pressure of an ordinary fresh water system, and at that level the switch is doing a harder job than the number alone suggests. Its internal diaphragm has to flex against that pressure on every cycle without fatiguing, its contacts have to break the motor’s current cleanly while the motor is working at its hardest, and its calibration has to stay put under loads that would distort a lighter mechanism. That is why a high-pressure switch is a different component rather than a standard one turned up.
The same rules apply here as at any high setting, only with less margin for error. Confirm that the pump is rated to reach 150 PSI, that the hose, fittings and clamps are rated well above it, and that every downstream component can hold it. If the pump cannot achieve the cut-out pressure it will never stop, which at this end of the range means a motor working continuously at high load. Check the specification before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why is a high-pressure switch not simply a standard one set higher?
Because the internal diaphragm, spring and contacts all have to be built for the load. A standard switch adjusted upward would drift out of calibration and burn its contacts within a short time.
Q: What hose should be used at this pressure?
Reinforced hose rated well above the working pressure, with clamps or fittings to match. Ordinary clear reinforced tubing sold for fresh water systems is not appropriate here.
Q: How dangerous is a failure at 150 PSI?
It deserves respect. A hose that lets go at this pressure whips and sprays with real force, so route lines securely and keep connections out of the way of anyone working nearby.
Q: Should the system have a relief valve?
On a high-pressure installation it is a sensible precaution. If the switch ever fails closed, a relief valve is what stands between that fault and a burst line.
